'Nirmaya' is a social film set in the village of Sunkhaani, Nepal, which aims to challenge superstition and caste discrimination while promoting awareness and change. The story revolves around two youths from the Dalit community who unite with others to fight against the oppressive high-class Thulabadaa, Kazi, and Bist. The village experiences a shift when Dalit priests are appointed to the Shiva temple, as mandated by the government in the constitution. However, the Thulabadaa hold the power to reverse the appointment by appealing to the government.

In this period of change, Bire and Jite, two youths from the village, fall in love with the daughter of Kazi and Bist. Despite society's disapproval, they dream of breaking societal norms and solidifying their love. Tragically, Jite dies while eloping with Kazi's niece, leaving Bire to continue the struggle alone. Later, Kazi falls critically ill and urgently requires blood. Bire discovers that his blood is a match and selflessly donates it to save Kazi's life. Upon learning that Bire was the donor, Kazi expresses gratitude. As Bire and Nirmaya's love story progresses, they decide to escape the village together.

When Kazi learns of his daughter's elopement, he rushes to find her. Eventually, Kazi brings his daughter and Bire back home and arranges a grand traditional wedding. However, society and relatives reject the marriage, prompting Kazi to advocate for change and challenge people's mindset. He takes responsibility for his previous actions and decides to rectify his mistake by accepting Bire as his son-in-law. This decision conveys a positive message of humanity to the new generation.
